Is Jeff Bezos’ full-time job to file lawsuits against SpaceX? Elon Musk seems to think so. The two billionaires are at it again over their low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite networks.

ICYMI: Amazon's Project Kuiper and Elon Musk's SpaceX are both launching satellites in LEO, a competitive piece of real estate for companies selling access to faster wireless and internet connections via satellite. 

What happened: In a letter to the Federal Trade Commission, Kuiper accused Musk of skirting regulations, including "launching satellites with unlicensed antennas," a claim that SpaceX refuted. 

Why it’s happening: Bezos is salty that SpaceX filed two plans for their next-generation satellite network with the FCC instead of just one. 

This way, if the FCC rejects one of the filings, it can’t still go ahead with the other. It’s not illegal, but it isn’t conventional either. 

Last week, comic book makers Marvel and DC revealed that they may have more non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in the works.

Some background: Comic artists are allowed to sell original sketches of their work after they have been published, but might run into trouble if they sell recreations of trademarked characters. 

Even though buying an NFT doesn’t equate to buying the rights to a work, comic book makers are sensing that NFTs could be big business for them.

Why it matters: NFTs presented an exciting chance for artists and creators to monetize their work, but there are lots of copyright issues that still need to be worked out.

Harvard will ditch its fossil fuels holdings after years of urging from students and activists.

Some context: Harvard has a US-$42 billion endowment, which is the largest for an American university. For comparison, the University of Toronto (U of T) has the largest endowment in Canada at $3.7 billion.

What happened: The change came after the appointment of four pro-divestment candidates to one of Harvard's governing bodies. Harvard's decision to divest follows the lead of other prestigious universities like Cornell, Oxford, and Cambridge.

The Canadian angle: U of T, Canada’s largest university, committed to reducing its endowment’s carbon footprint by 40% by 2030 compared to 2017 levels and the University of British Columbia said it would gradually divest from fossil fuels by 2030. 

Zoom out: Harvard’s decision could encourage other big-name universities to divest from their fossil fuel investments sooner than they may have planned.

A judge has ruled that Apple must allow other payment options for in-app purchases on iOS.

Catch up: Apple takes up to a 30% cut from app developers every time someone buys something in an iOS app or purchases a subscription through the App Store. 

What happened: The ruling was part of the court battle between Fortnite maker Epic and Apple. Epic sued Apple last year over its app store policies.

Can’t win ‘em all: While the judge dealt a blow to Apple by ordering them to basically give up their 30% fees, they also found that Apple isn’t monopolizing the mobile video game market, a ruling which could help Apple’s case in the event of future antitrust lawsuits.
