Frequently asked questions
How do I login to my account?
Choose Log in at the top of any page or visit this link and enter your email address. We'll email you a six-digit code to login with. There's no need for a password. If you already get The Peak by email, use the address your newsletter goes to so your subscription is linked to your account. Codes expire after 15 minutes and only the most recent one works. If yours doesn't arrive, check your spam folder, wait a minute and choose Send a new code.
How do I change my email?
Log in and go to Account → Account details, then choose Change next to your email address. Enter the new address and we'll send a six-digit code to it. Once you enter the code, we update your account, your newsletters and any Premium subscription to the new address, and we email your old address to let you know. You can't switch to an address that's already used by another Peak account or newsletter subscription. If that's what you need, contact us.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Log in and go to Account → Subscription overview, then choose Cancel your subscription. You'll keep full access until the end of the period you've already paid for, and you won't be charged again. If you change your mind before then, choose Keep your subscription on the same page. If you have a Family plan, the people you've shared it with lose access on the same date.
How do I update my payment information?
Log in and go to Account → Subscription overview. Under Payment information, choose Update next to your payment method. This opens our secure payment provider, Stripe, where you can add or change your card. We never see or store your full card number. If a payment has failed, you'll see a notice on the site with a button to update your card, and you keep access while we retry the payment.
How do I see my billing history?
Log in and go to Account → Billing history. It lists every payment with the date, plan, service period and amount, plus a link to a receipt you can download. Refunds are shown next to the payment they apply to. Choose Show earlier payments to go further back.
How do I manage my Family Access subscription?
If you pay for the Family plan: Log in and go to Account → Family subscription. You can share Peak Premium with up to three people. Invite them by email, or choose Copy link to get a one-time invitation link you can send however you like. From the same page you can resend or revoke invitations and remove members. If you remove someone, their place can be filled again after 24 hours. Your billing and personal details aren't shared with the people you invite.
If someone shared their Family plan with you: Accept the invitation by logging in with the email address it was sent to. If they used an invitation link, any address works. To leave, go to Account → Account details and choose Leave under Family.
Want to switch to Family? If you have an individual Premium subscription, go to Subscription overview → Change your plan. You'll only pay the prorated difference.
How do gift subscriptions work?
To gift someone a Peak Premium subscription, go to the Give Peak Premium page, which is also linked in the footer and on your account page. A gift is 12 months of Peak Premium for one person. You pay once, and the subscription expires automatically at the end of the period.
You can send the gift:
- By email: enter their address and the day it should arrive, with an optional message.
- As a link: we give you a link to share however you like. Whoever opens it can claim it.
The subscription starts on the day they claim it. Unclaimed gifts stay valid for 12 months, and we'll remind you if one hasn't been claimed after a month. You can see each gift's status, and resend emailed gifts, under Share The Peak on Account details. Gifts can't be claimed by someone who already has Peak Premium.
I stopped receiving a newsletter I'm signed up for. How do I fix it?
There are a few common reasons:
- It's in your spam or promotions folder. Search for emails from The Peak or from newsletter.readthepeak.com, then mark the latest one as not spam or move it to your main inbox.
- You're unsubscribed from that newsletter. Log in and go to Account → Email and settings. You'll see each newsletter and whether you're subscribed, and you can subscribe again there.
- It's going to a different address. If you have more than one email address, check the one you originally signed up with. Account details will also tell you if your newsletters go to a different address from the one you log in with.
- You reported one of our emails as spam. This sometimes happens by accident. We're then legally required to stop emailing you. To start again, email
[email protected] from the address you want back, with this message: "I wish to resume receiving emails from The Peak (https://www.readthepeak.com/) to my email address (YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS)." The request has to come from your own inbox, so we can't send it for you.
How do I manage what newsletters I receive?
Log in and go to Account → Email and Settings. Every newsletter is listed with a Subscribe or Unsubscribe button. You can choose which ones you receive here. You can also unsubscribe from any newsletter with the link at the bottom of the email. Premium-only newsletters are automatically included with Peak Premium.
