Suncor's cyber attack is bigger than payment problems. Cybersecurity experts theorize that this weekend's temporary disruption of digital payments at Petro-Canada stores was only the "tip of the iceberg." Rumour has it that Suncor employees could not log into their internal accounts, signalling that the attack is much more severe than the oil and gas company is letting on. 

Bank stocks bring down the entire market. The Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) has little chance to rebound this year unless bank stocks recover, a technical strategist told BNN. Bank stocks had underperformed since March when the downfall of Silicon Valley Bank shocked the industry and bred further mistrust of financial institutions. Banks have a more significant impact on the stock market than tech stocks, making up almost 31% of the TSX.

Shopify says "no" to CRA requests. Tobi Lutke, CEO of online selling platform Shopify, announced that he doesn't want to fight with the Canada Revenue Agency but will after the tax collector requested the past six years of records for all Canadian Shopify accounts. The CRA needs federal approval to obtain these records through a third party like Shopify, which it has yet to get.
